Jonathan is a Film and Classical Composer, Conductor and Pianist. Jonathan is classically trained from an early age. He has extensively explored a wide variety of musical styles such as Classical Music, Jazz, and World Music. With his avid love of film, he began to work with film music since 2017. Following that, he decided to pursue a path in becoming a world-class film scorer and musician.
Jonathan’s first composition is titled Flashback, an epic orchestral composition reflecting his strong desire and passion for music. He soon composed another dramatic orchestral piece named Shattered, covering the hardships one will have to face on the path of pursuing goals. He recently just completed a sophisticated romantic period style composition for Piano and Orchestra called The Dancing Flame, which explores a range of complex rhythms, instrumental dexterity, and harmonies. The piece is heavily influenced by Sergi Rachmaninoff, one of Jonathan’s favorite composers.
Jonathan is also an experienced and versatile pianist. He has performed on more than 40 occasions in the past 3 years with musical styles ranging from Classical Piano to Rock, Musicals to Pop. After months of intense practice, he also obtained the honor to participate in the final stage of the prestigious Liszt International Piano Competition held in Budapest, Hungary. He is looking forward to starting cello lessons in the upcoming months and becoming a cello virtuoso as well.
Outside music, Jonathan is also a dedicated footballer and runner. He is also passionate about History and Philosophy because he believes that Music and the two realms are inseparable. He has also lived in many countries such as Africa, the United Kingdom, Mainland China, and Hong Kong. Having these experiences made him an international-minded musician and gave him the ability to interpret music in a mature manner from a wide variety of angles.
